Software Engineer
Location: Wakefield, MA

As Software Engineer, you will be involved in all aspects of
running our sites: From design to debug, from architecture to
applications.  You will wear many hats: performance analyst, service
architect, system/database administrator, capacity planner, tools
developer, monitoring expert, and technical evangelist.  This position
requires a passion for problem solving, understanding of operating systems
and Internet services, and the ability to learn new applications and
concepts quickly. Strong scripting skills are essential.

Requirements:

- 3+ years' experience with HTML/XML, SQL, Apache, Linux, Java, ASP.Net, C++
- Passion for start-ups.
- Ability to build great software.
- Ability to write spiders.
- BS in computer science.

Web Editor
Location: Wakefield, MA

As Web Editor, you will be responsible for creating content to help educate and inform our growing audience of people who turn to CourseAdvisor.com for education and training advice. You will work directly with the company founder in continuing to build and enhance Course Advisor's position as a trusted resource for people seeking the best providers for online education. Our ideal candidate is an excellent writer and reporter with some editing experience. You have worked at online companies and have journalism experience. Responsibilities:

  • Create and update site content, directories, articles and other education and training-related content  
  • Review and edit content written by internal and external sources 
  • Develop ideas and new content formats for use on our web sites
Requirements:
  • 2+ years online writing experience.
  • Ability to write clearly and professionally  
  • Some editing experience.
  • Ability to multitask and get up to speed quickly on a variety of topics
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work well in a highly collaborative, start-up environment.
  • Dynamic and self-directed
  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or a related field.
  • Sample work will be requested
