Regional Accrediting Associations
The following accrediting associations are recognized by the United States Department of Education and
accredit institutions (vs. individual programs) in the United States and internationally. For more information on these
organizations, please visit their websites.
New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) NEASC accredits some 1,887 public and independent schools, colleges and universities in the six states of
Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont and 129 American/International schools around the
globe.
North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA) NCA accredits colleges and universities in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,
Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Navajo Nation, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia,
Wisconsin, Wyoming, and international locations.
Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA) MSA accredits colleges, universities, and other institutions in the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland,
New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Europe, Central America and the Middle East.
Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWCCU) NWCCU accredits colleges, universities, and other institutions in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon,
Utah, and Washington State.
Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS) SACS accredits colleges and universities in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi,
North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Latin America.
Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) WASC accredits colleges and universities in California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Palau, Micronesia,
Northern Marianas, Marshall Islands, and certain other Australasian locations.
